Thanks to everyone who came out to see Tell-It’s Tenth Anniversary show!
It was a magical night, which I was happy to be a part of, even though I broke my right wrist a couple hours before the show.
But what’s a broken wrist to storytelling? It’s not like I had to strum a guitar or play keyboards or bang on drums. So the show went on and I went to Urgent Care the next day.
Yup, definitely broken.
So… after navigating the hellscape that is our healthcare industry, I’m in a cast for five weeks. The doctor says the break is clean and should heal fine.
Here’s a video of that performance… as a bonus I’m wearing a Black Guy Fawkes t-shirt (check out his music when you get a chance, it’s great). As a second bonus, if you look closely, you can see the moment where I realize I don’t have enough strength in my right hand to light the candle and switch to the left hand. And as a third bonus, there’s a singalong to a song my father used to sing when I was a kid. About half the crowd knew the song. (Amazing!)
